Our speakers for this event were:
- Rebekah Gee, MD, MPH, a Robert Woods Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania who has worked on the health care reform plan in Massachusetts and is also a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist.
- Andrew Wigglesworth, President of the Health Care Improvement Foundation which focuses on a broad range of community health improvement and patient safety/quality assurance initiatives. He is also President and CEO of Philadelphia International Medicine LLC, a joint venture of eight of the region’s top hospitals, and formerly ran the Delaware Valley Health Care Council for 12 years.
- Our moderator was Josh Goldstein, the health and science reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, who regularly covers hospital care, clinical care, and quality of care issues.
A lively crowd came to listen and ask questions about the current state of health care in the U.S. They learned about the various forces combining to cause the problems plaguing our health care system and heard how many states, including Pennsylvania, are dealing with this issue.
